#2 Inlet United Church at The Springs

An inlet is a body of water, and it is also a word meaning a way in or a means of entry. Welcome. Let the Spirit in. We are a group of seekers, rooted in the Christian faith, working to figure out how to be the kindest, most compassionate humans we can be in this increasingly isolated and challenging world.

We offer our space, in the heart of Moody Centre, as a place for community gathering, connection and belonging, with events throughout the year. In 2024 we completed The Springs Art Wall Project with the creation of "Prayer for the Inlet," an exterior mural by Artist Atheana Picha.

We are delighted to participate in the 2025 Port Moody Shuffle, welcoming artists and neighbours, to view the Art Wall, and celebrate the art of our wonderful City.

Fiona Rough

I paint playful, colourful still life paintings in acrylics and oil, drawing inspiration from subtle shifts in colour and value found in everyday objects. I am interested in creative constraints and the meditative aspects of regular art-making. I will be painting some colour wheels and colour studies from reference images.

Gord Trembath

Gord Trembath is a self-taught artist from Coquitlam who has been painting for five years. His work primarily consists of landscapes of memorable places throughout BC, along with a collection of dogs, cats and other local wildlife. His studio donates 10% of the profits from every painting, print, card or other piece of artwork to local charities that empower youth, support the less fortunate, protect our planet, and make a difference in our communities.

"I try to draw on the natural beauty that's all around us to create colourful images of places or events that many of us can relate to. My work is bright and bold, and is meant to evoke memories of family outings, sole excursions or unforgettable adventures, as a reminder that we live in one of the most beautiful places on earth."

Aaron Hunter (Tri Cities Poetry)

Aaron Hunter is inspired by life's occasions from the mundane to the momentous, the silliness to the sorrows. He is the founder of "Brave Voices," a weekly poetry open mic in Port Moody and his debut chapbook "The Archives" was released at the end of 2024.

"I strive to create inclusive spaces where people can be seen, heard and appreciated for who they are. I believe that what makes us different and unique is what makes life beautiful and I want to highlight those differences in my work."

PoMo Players

Pomo Players was formed in the summer of 2024. We came together with the intention to continue production of live theatre entertainment for Port Moody and the surrounding communities. Our first show was "A Miracle on 34th St." at the Inlet United Church at the Springs. We were thrilled with its success as it was a completely sold out production.

We held our first community table reading of "A Christmas Carol" at the CityState Boardroom in Port Moody recently, which was entertaining and enjoyable for all attendees. We will continue to create and present theatre arts for theatre lovers and to build a more connected arts community in the Tri-Cities.

Tri-City Potters is a non-profit society founded in 2007 to encourage awareness and learning about the ceramic arts. Our membership includes those who appreciate and collect ceramic art as well as professional and recreational potters and ceramicists.

We meet on the third Wednesday of each month from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Port Moody Arts Centre. Everyone is welcome to our meetings. Each meeting includes a planned activity such as a guest speaker, demonstration, discussion of art by various members or a short hands-on workshop, and time to socialize.

Drop by to see the amazing pottery creations of participating artists Lori Rosner, Max Yang and Yuki Okada. They’ll be at the Tri-City Potters booth at Inlet United Church.
