From early spring to late fall, you can find Val hand building or sculpting in her Port Moody backyard. She enjoys hiking, diving and skiing. Her whimsical shapes are inspired by nature and ocean adventures. Her work is functional and artistic. A reduction kiln allows the layered glazes to create the waterfall effect appearance. Pots are microwave, oven and dishwasher safe.
“I have been potting for over 25 years and I enjoy all aspects of it. From starting with a block of clay, to moulding it into a piece and combining many glazes to show movement. My work is artistic, yet functional. I`m a scuba diver and my work is influenced by what I see when I`m in the ocean, and why my glazes have a waterfall effect.”
